they made pete too much of a a pussy nigga
whole point of the character is he doesn't know how attractive he actually is and that he's not really being bullied as much as he thinks he is but is in fact a quasi-incel who takes shit too seriously.
Maguire was a miscast and they went too "Ultimate" with the Peter Parker portrayal.
