Because every word a wrestler utters on cmaera is scripted to hell and back. The best moments "back in the day" were freestyle stream of thought rants or convos. It allowed wrestler with the innate ability to talk to show how charismatic they were (or not) and the audience immediately was hooked on that. Look at this, Stone Cold returned for an event where he didn't talk in the ring, just gave a couple stunners and left, but got interviewed backstage... he cut a better promo in this random segment than any WWE wrestler in the last decade.
