Something I noticed skimming through what was released of the Sonic SatAM writers' bible is that Nicole is flat-out not mentioned. My original impression of the wizard Nate Morgan concept is that he got revamped into Naugus, but now that I think of it, I think they replaced him with Nicole the tech-wiz. If I'm right, Nicole being a human might have been in the cards from the start.
