Very divisive. You seem difficult to them but also worth it. That said, its not with some frankly horrible history - namely and probably speaking of a precise event, like you two were close to be together but there was a fumble, an impasse before that not only gives them the perception that you are difficult, but makes them look back with uncertainty. All of this together makes them passive and cold. They dont have a negative opinion of you per-se, but they are actively avoiding developing feelings. There's some nostalgia but conscious apprehension and disharmony.

In other words, they feel like you two aren't on the same page. Like pursuing you brings disharmony in their life so they choose to be neutral towards you. This isn't to say disinterested, not exactly, but it makes them cold and analytical. Like they tried once and didn't work, so they dont feel like trying again unless in someway there's an assurance.
