As a fellow fuck long backlog bro, just pick a few that look interesting, then go to How Long To Beat to see what you should play. I generally just do stuff that are like 5-10 hours long for weekends. You can crank a game or two out and not feel rushed.

>THEY NEED TO RELEASE SOURCE CODE
Not in the initiative, not a talking point, only said by PirateSoftware. Developers will not need to give out source code. They will need to create an end of life policy that keeps that game functional.
>THIS IS A PETITION. SLACKTIVISM!
This is a EU Citizens Initiative that, by law, once a million signatures are reached will have new law drafted in response to it. This is not a suggestion box or a beg. It is either you get nothing or you get a law.
>JUST READ THE EULA, IDIOT!
EULAs are purposefully used to hurt consumers and benefit the bottom line of a corporation. Only in the USA are they legally enforcable and this is because the American government worships Coca-Cola and Apple more than its citizens.
>MMOS WILL DIE
They will not. Game companies will create solutions that will keep them running (privately hosted servers, LAN connections, peer to peer, selling servers to another company, etc.)
>NEED DADDY GOVERNMENT TO HELP YOU? COMMIE.
Ad hominem. Corporations are unwilling to be consumer friendly because hurting consumers makes them money. Government regulation is the only way to prevent Jews from continuing this.
>JUST DON'T BUY IT!
If everyone on /v/ stopped buying games that were online or relied on servers, companies wouldn't stop doing it because normies outweigh us 10:1. Why would you want a normie deciding what is good for your games?
>JUST PLAY OLD GAMES!
Doesn't solve the problem. Eventually all new games, bad or good, will be screwed like this. Playing a game from 20 years ago doesn't solve the epidemic happening now or in the future.
>JUST LET THE INDUSTRY DIE
Normies prop it up. It will continue and not crash even with these current practices. Sorry to ruin your LARPer wet dream.
>DEVELOPERS DECIDE THIS
Developers aren't the ones deciding to shut down the game they worked for years on because it makes $100,000 a month instead of $300,000. That's what bean counters do.
All arguments against this are made by Indians.
