I remember getting the FE6 translation patch from the youtube profile page of some kid on summer break from high school who never finished an FE6 LP. He was arena abusing and everything, way before people on here were bitching about it.
I had no idea who made the patch, just that if I went to some shady website and followed the instructions, I too could play FE6 in English.
Reading old fanfiction, half of which is deleted now, and finding those obscure little sites and getting art like you said. Now it's a graveyard of broken links and thinking "holy fuck, that was almost 20 years ago"
