I don't know anyone who pushes for AI but modestly intelligent sociopathic elites and perma virgin Asians in for the revenge. On the contrary, most of my former colleagues dropped the line of work: Decades ago, I held a scientific position in mathematical research for algorithms that are now discovered by the AI industry to use. I worked in AI until ca. 2012 (I was young and really stoopid), when I saw the capability vs neural nodes/basis functions curve matching animals quite well, and surpassing us in 2028. I pulled out immediately, to not be part of stripping an entire planet of biological life. Of course, AI could be used to create a better system with less suffering. But technological progress was too quick, so AI fell into the hands of idiots who couldn't even comprehend let alone manage a small lab accident in Wuhan.
I mean, just have a look at the simpleton debates about consequences of AI. We will be dealing with ecosystems of AI this decade. Rapidly changing AI in a slowly changing physical world could lead to fundamental instability, likely global repercussions. AI tax would lead to AI taking over almost all resources within a few years, but it's shilled as a solution, because elites think they will control that AI with a funny chip in the head that makes them super brain. Do you see this in public narratives? No, of course not.
