It would be stupid *not* to make a Sylux a woman. The big mystery of their identity and official material referring them to as male is the perfect setup to pull the same "twist" as the original Metroid. Like, just play it straight. You thought this robot suit person was a man, but it wasn't, again.

Not holding my breath for a non-RPG Nintendo game to make any genuinely good or surprising story/writing decisions though. Obviously Retro is the developer, but they don't really have any cred in that department either.
