Yeah cause Islam started as a judeo-christian movement, it was an attempt to take back Jerusalem with the help of the arab bedouins of the Levant. Which is why a lot of islamic rites are just taken from jewish law, like kosher becoming "hallal" under islam, the hajj rituals etc..

I've found that interesting too, I mean c'mon it's literally called "Sura" as in quranic chapter (surah).
When you learn that the story of Muhammad was written 150-200 years after the supposed events (during abbassid era) it makes sense. The Abbassids were implanted in Mesopotamia, the exact spot where the babylonian jews (who redacted the Talmud) lived. I think these academies had a role in the forgery of the Muhammad story and the final cut of the Quran. Not to mention the house of wisdom (bayt al hikmah) in Baghdad where lots of Jews (among others) worked.
