According to descriptions, he is blind in one eye, and his other eye is deformed, like a large bubble or a sort of floating grape. He also has the word "unbeliever" written in full on his forehead—a word that any believer could read, even if they don't normally know how to read.
Now, in Islamic (and Christian) eschatology, the Antichrist is supposed to be the greatest test of the end times, an immense temptation, capable of deceiving almost all of humanity.
So why is he so caricatured and identifiable? Why does God make him so obvious, when he is supposed to be an ultimate ruse? Is there a double level of interpretation? Are we talking about a symbol rather than a literal character?
