Honestly, I was fucked 20 years ago.
>49
>current-year bongland prisoner
>no qualifications (English degree)
>industry I used to work in full-time is close to dead (magazine publishing)
>lost the decent part-time gig I had a few months ago (the mag folded)
What do? I'm thinking of applying to be a trainee estate agent, as it doesn't sound too bad, plus they don't require anything qualification-wise. I know I'd be competing with a bunch of late teens/recent graduates, though. Suspect if I "learned to code" I'd be up against infinity pajeets, if my age didn't disqualify me there too. (Plus I've no idea *what* to learn.) My only asset (for now): about £70,000 worth of AAPL, which clearly I should have sold last year, even though I'd have taken a massive hit on CGT (which I'll now have to take anyway when I start selling it just to eat). Everything I was looking to buy last year is now too high.
