So I "just" started the game (level 4), how fucked is my build?

I've heard talks that if you make your build wrong from the start you can be fucked over later on.

I've been using them a lot, yeah. Beartraps are awesome- What's a good source of metal so I can craft more? I haven't found anything that scraps into metal. Used a mollie and a burst from my AR to kill this fucker in the mushroom cove and it felt great.
