1bit transparency masks which are completely sharp, as pixel can only be pure black, or pure white. so even if you have a 4k mask, which would be like 200mb sitting in vram, it's still pixelated. so they make a 1k mask, then slap taa on top to blur it. dlss is the best at fixing it, but the second motion happens, it's back to smear city.
