NTA but Tails and Amy had way different reactions when first encountering Sonic.
>Tails sees Sonic being cool
>decides to follow him
>doesn't try to stop him or get in the way
>can keep up with him in speed
>assists him on taking down Eggman by piloting the Tornado
>proves his worth to both Sonic and himself

>Amy sees Sonic
>immediately hugs him
>wants him to stop and reciprocate
>has to be saved
>can't keep up at all
>doesn't help take down Eggman

A little kid seeing someone cool and following them because they want to be like them isn't stalker behavior. A girl having a one sided crush on a guy isn't either, Amy was just being overbearing. It's just that she's been doing it for such a long time, added with the fact that these are cartoon characters not really meant to stray too much from the status quo, that people started to understandably assume that she was a psycho. It's a shame too because she's a much more enjoyable character when Sonic isn't even around: helps the Flicky reunite with its family in SA1, convinces Shadow to help save the planet, offers to help Trip out after fucking up her mission to stop Sonic and friends. I can see why they want to change her character to be less Sonic crazy, but holy shit she's so boring now. Bring back Psychomy please, anything is better than what we got in Frontiers.
