Look at 1997 and look at the rest of them. The switch to digital hit the art direction hard and 2016 really smoothed out the designs. Nothing about 2019's design screams 'cool', and yes the writing correlates with the designs. 1997 may be a greenhorn but he looks like he could beat the shit out of 2019 in a fistfight.
