This is 100% in the EYE universe, however I wouldn't be surprised if this is set deep in the past. But I reckon, going from how Humanity/Federation were losing and being slaughtered by the Meta-streumonic forces, I reckon this game is set in the future after a collapse/extinction event. Would explain how it's lowtech with melee weapons, but it's still the literal exact same EYE organization.
