They're really not that fun to be honest lol. Winning is whatever and losing to dumb shit is rolling your eyes to the back of your head and go to lab that dumb shit (not really fun).

They don't get any more fun when you play on intermediate or even competitive. If anything, it's more taxing and stressing to play on tier 2 or 3 of competitive (unless the community is really good)
