Yes, it is. Canadian 1900 showed up and started posting anon links to games that he cheated in while claiming tall tales like reaching FIDE 1900 without ever learning how to play the game. His pleasant demeanor crumbled once people called him out on it and he went demolition mode and started obsessively doxxing people (sound familiar?), getting banned from /tg/ (sound familiar?) and samefagging up a shitstorm, same as he’s been doing itg about /tg/, to totally hijack the thread. /chess/ tried to move to /sp/ to discourage his samefagging a couple times but it never really caught on, our home was /tg/. Eventually everyone just started leaving and the general died. At that point the puppet master of /chess/, as this literal mental patient now considered himself, created /vg/chess/ and to this day closely monitors /tg/chess for activity so that he can derail it if it starts to get going again.
I’m not arguing about whether this happened, I was there and it did and it’s all in the archive. I’m just posting for any possible stray people here who legitimately might not know.
We’re currently trying to get /tg/ going again which makes this loser seethe to no end, as I proved above he can give no reason other than the fact that he resents its existence. Because he is the Canadian 1900, and /tg/chess/ is his villain origin story.
