1 ) Jumped in the water and realized I was out of shape from last summer and could not make out to the floating dock -- just switched to a back stoke to catch my breath and then continued on with a breast stroke .
2 ) got a leg cramp from cold water - did a side stroke till could work the cramp out .
3 ) got caught in an undertow -- stop fighting the undertow and changed direction and found another way to shore .
