These movies are super low stakes and boring. The first movie at least tricked the audience into thinking that the Na'Vi were facing extermination and the end of their environment but really it was just "oh no our fuckin' tree got chopped down after years of being told that this was going to happen by the people who are clearly technologically superior to us and want the resources under it." The sequel was like... eh? "Bad guy survived somehow and wants revenge but clearly does not have the resources this time around and his boats will get sunk. Also look at this happy family splashing around in the water."
The third movie is just going to be more of the same, CG landscape porn, some half assed aesop about "colonialism bad, industry bad, nature good" and all that gay shit. It will make 2 billion dollars and then everyone will forget about it 5 minutes later until Avatar 4 comes out.
