Howdy all, I just inherited this old fox double gun that is missing a chunk of wood from the stock right up where it butts into the receiver (pic included).
Could this cause a problem if I were to fire this gun, enough to warrant a replacement or repair? I’m concerned that since it’s missing a chunk from the upper left side that firing especially from the left barrel can cause it to “twist” its way out of the stock and eventually come loose. I mostly be firing trap loads out of this but I would also like to fire buck and slugs from it and i don’t want to worry about it breaking on me. Just doing a quick search for used stocks this rough area seems to be a common break point.
