Is this the most forgotten Smash game? Even with the 3DS version saving it sales-wise due to the Wii U being a massive failure, it's everyone forgets it exists. It feels like it was just a prototype for Ultimate, since it played and looked the most similar.

64 was the classic that started it all, Melee was the huge sequel that made Smash into a big, core franchise that established what Smash is today and started the competitive scene. Brawl was cinematic, had a long campaign, and introduced a much larger roster and 3rd party fighters. Ultimate has a massive roster and has every fighter, and is just the most popular by a huge margin due to the immense popularity of the Switch. Smash 4 had a handheld version and... custom moves which was scrapped with the next game. It felt like a placeholder and it's the only game
