There was a wave of praise after a port that fixed most of the game's performance issues. The PS3 and Xbox versions are still widely considered miserable to mediocre experiences. The level design and Sonic feeling like a truck to control are still panned. It's a boost game, and not even the best boost game. Advance 3 kicks its ass, hell, the entire Advance series has better game design than Unleashed could hope to. Unleashed was a performance to money invested flop that got mogged by Sonic Colors (a game SEGA actually bothered officially rereleasing) that has now became the cultural byproduct of mass piracy.
It's an irrelevant blight SEGA will not be revisiting.
