Theory time:

>ch8 basically as a time rewind back to ch1 where susie barges into your house very early into the morning to get you to the school before the knight even gets there.
>when they get there, however, theres no ch1 dark fountain yet, so susie comes up with an idea after seeing that kris still has the shadow crystals on hand
>"Hey, remember when we fought the knight back at your house? We lost pretty badly, and from there, things only got worse from there onwards..."
>"But we dont HAVE to redo all of that, you see, when i made that dark world at the church, all the enemies there were pretty tough compared to the ones made by the knight."

>we help jevil, spamton and tenna as much as we can, preventing jevil and spamton from going schizo mode and allowing spamton to reconcile with tenna.
>in ch10's the knight battle, she stops holding back, and as we beat her down to 0 hp, she causes the roaring by stabbing the ground, causing a final encounter against the titans of the prophecy without getting cucked out of winning by the knight this time
>toriel gets obliterated by the titans at some point in the fight
>after we win and seal the fountain, we see kris's house destroyed with (the knight), toriel and undyne bleeding out, kris and susie being wounded as well
>asgore swoops in and carries everybody to the hospital
>a cutscene happens where toriel wakes up and sees that asgore was her and kris's savior, the family starts to reconcile.
