But yeah, I think this origin story demonstrates why I find the New 52 stuff really boring. Beyond the fact that Johns quite literally castrates Cyborg, he misses so many of the themes which made the character interesting and totally ignores the whole self-hatred, the actual complexities of Victor's relationship with his dad/family and the themes of having one's autonomy stolen.
