Sniper exists so the game does not devolve into a bunch of retards jumping around mid trying to DM each other.
Sniper makes it so standing around in the open makes you a useless div who will die. If you hang around in the open at all, unga-bunga man-fighting everyone you see, you will get shot in the head and made to feel retarded.
Similarly, Spy makes it so your team cant just stare ahead and mindlessly spam gunfire in an Overwatch deathball. Both assassin classes exist to provide a punishment for not having some forward momentum.

How many times is /v/ going to try and fight big corporations and lose before it realizes the only solution is mass non-compliance? Attempts to stop music piracy only stopped when everyone pirated music and it became extremely easy. Take the hint, retards.
