Can someone explain what's the appeal of ASMR?

I tried listening to a couple but they made me extremely uncomfortable and uneasy.
I felt like if there was a bunch of saliva, muckus, insects and organs trying to enter inside my ears.
It genuinely caused me sensorial repulsion if that's even a thing.
