You’re missing the point. It doesn’t matter if Biden was a dementia patient, he was still the best shot Democrats had at beating Trump. He had a very successful record as President - pic - and him being primaried, or stepping aside, would have guaranteed a Trump victory because of points (2) and (3) that I brought up.
You’re looking at the entire thing wrong because you’re obsessed with your cult leader and so assume that we must be obsessed with one of our own. We’re not. We didn’t want Biden. We wanted *anyone but Trump*.

Democrats didn’t lose on the issues. The biggest thing voters said caused them to vote for Trump was “high inflation” - this despite the fact that on Election Day, inflation was under 2%. It was low enough that the Fed had cut rates to keep the economy from stalling, and it was well below the US historical average of 3.5% or so. We didn’t lose on the issue, we lost on the perception of the issue. We lost because a plurality of the country were told pretty lies and chose to believe them because it’s what they wanted to be true. Like I said earlier - once again, Democrats overestimated the ethics and morality of the American people.

Unlikely. Sanders is an actual Socialist. If he were the Democratic frontrunner in 2016, then suddenly Trump is the (perceived) moderate candidate to Sanders’ extremism. Socialism is a dirty word in US politics. Ultimately, Sanders has a high floor, but a low ceiling. In an actual election, I do not believe he’d win because enough people would knee-jerk away from Socialism.
