If soul is a factor, here are my sixes for Gym Leaders and League Trainers.
It's a listing of most prominent Pokemon of each character (using ONLY Pokemon that were used in games and other official media), with a touch of my arbitrary preference.
By rule, I avoided NFEs (except for "justified cases" and Pokemon that got cross-gen evos recently), Legendaries and repeats.
They're supposed to be "in-character", not neccessarily competitive. I generally refrained giving them non-regional Pokemon from rematches (except for those that have media appearances or are somewhat notable or recurring) because I see them as soulless and out-of-character (especially Lance's PWT team... disgusting).
They end with Unova, since Leaders from Gen VI on don't always have canonical full teams (especially Kalos is lacking in this aspect), may add more if something happens in future.
I also make occasional updates to this sheet.
