I think the characters as normal people are a bit odd, but they work as representations and meta commentary of kinks, extremities, society, and guilt that comes associated.

>Taki: Uncomfortably perceptive, normal guy. Therapist according to the twitter.
>Moko: Unhealthy practice of her fantasies, as she consumes male rape stories and immediately starts to act on them ingame (the former was only mentioned in a dev tweet.)
>Chio: Exhibitionist & Predatory older woman who likes taking boys virginity (Eyes Maru, also enjoys watching Saeko eat people, probably a mirror how she "consumes" virgins.)
>Maru: Guilt. It's not about the pee, it's about how he enjoyed the thought of ending the lives of ants in a humiliating way and it causes him to suffer ptsd.
>Kina: She's represents rebellious subcultures (fetishes), doesn't care what other thinks (opposite of Saeko)
>Shimon: Writer of romance novels but can't handle scary/bad ends (Guessing he's a reflection of the dev who mentioned being scarred by the original stories.)
>Yui: BDSM, Kidnapping, Abuse, Drugging, she's just Saeko but without the fantasy of size powers.
>Clara: Obsessive & Controlling. She's the gentle chuuni foil to Saeko, the Hero vs Villain. She technically "defeats" Saeko by providing the trail police need (Unless it's the genocide ending, then she just causes the end of the world.)
>Akari: Depressed, suicidal, traumatized, mind broken. Saeko's personal dildo. What anyone would become if the fetish were real.
>Kazu: The shitty journalist that understands nothing but still turns your fetish into a over sensationalized news article or shitty episode of CSI

Whenever Saeko eats someone, the discussion for the following night you talk to her is based around their themes. Even if the writing is easy to criticize, I think it tried to go for something cool. But it does come off as ESL, but its an extremely small indie game by 3 people.
