I would say that is what hinders a lot of the comic, IMO. Look at all Mike's relationships with his friends for an example, there, well, the ones he is allowed to hang out with in the story, at least. Heck, the discord foks trying to draw parallel dont seem to realize there was a clear difference between the relationship between james and like to paulo and lucy in relation to the "rebounds" too. They don't work as parallels, especially since Lucy was treating Paulo as a replacement here. it is actually a major issue with Lucy that she needs to grind on her teddy bears or constantly needs one. I typically have no issue with people needing or having a character that they seek comfort in, but Lucy treats hers like both a punching bag and chew toy as well. Plus, I believe in being able to give love back to said character, too.
