I decided to try it too, those RMR gains seem too good to pass up on. Then again I've already lost ~140lbs so it might be too late to see a meaningful result, I've still got like 20~40lbs to go but might as well give it a shot. Anyway I just got it, the paper said they were encouraged to wear it 10+ hours a day when they were most active for six month. So for the next six months I'll be training like Goku I guess wearing this thing from the time I wake up to around dinner time. Weighing myself before and after putting this thing on added +26.1lbs to my weight (I'm ~185lbs atm) so its about 14% of my weight. Study said maximum of 15% so seems about the correct weight for now. The vest is maxed out so I can't really add more, ah well. Wearing it directly against my skin was rather uncomfortable as it chafes so I put on a baselayer under it and that seems to have solved that issue. You can tell its there under my clothes if you look for it but I imagine most people won't know I'm wearing it.

>Participants randomized to the weighted vest group (WL+VEST) additionally received an appropriately sized vest (Hyper Vest PRO®, Austin, TX), based on their ability to wear the vest under clothing and complete a full range of motion/chest expansion without restriction, and were asked to wear the vest up to 10h/day during the most active part of their day (with a goal of at least 50% of awake time wearing the weighted vest). The weight of the vest was increased weekly by study staff, with the goal of replacing all lost weight up to a maximum amount of 15% of the participant’s baseline weight. Compliance with the weighted vest protocol (including weight in vest and wear time) was collected weekly via self-report. Participants were asked to follow the dietary prescription and wear the vest during the first 6-months, only; participants were not contacted or on study protocol during the year after the intervention ended.
