I hunt whitetail deer at ranges of 100m or under with my .357 lever action. You can kill with a vital shot at those distances no problem but the animal might walk a ways before bleeding out since its not quite as powerful as a rifle round, and bullet drop from .357 is fairly negligible at 100m. You might want to consider a scope, but a 1x works fine imo, and as always know your holds.
