Man, aint that the truth. I guess a more accurate phrasing would be "a time in your life where you had your finest moments in spite of the afformentioned hardships" moments that were enough to keep you distracted from said hardships and looking back on that, you cant help but long for it, wish things were about as simple and ideal for current you. I for example had below average childhood but one of its redeeming factors were these moments where i could "escape" the suckish part and just fully enjoy life whatever that may was and im sure many can relate to that.
