If one is to assume that Roy Jay was indeed real and that his videos are not AI generated.. I find it bizarre that so much vhs footage of him has survived to this day when his last television appearance was ~40 years ago.
I was a big fan of Joey D'Auria's Bozo. Joey portrayed Bozo in the Chicago market for 17 years. During his peak popularity, the show aired every weekday afternoon. He was very well known, well documented and you could say.. popular (probably only second to Bob Bell). However, very little vhs footage has survived to this day.
There's probably just as much vhs footage of Roy Jay on YouTube as there is of Joey D'Auria's Bozo. Given Bozo's popularity and the duration of Joey's aforementioned portrayal, wouldn't it stand to reason that there should be much more video footage of Joey's Bozo? Or that there should be far less video footage of Roy Jay?
