Some games feel awful to play and clunky is the best way to describe it. Fallout New Vegas is a great example.
>character movement feels weightless as if you're gliding over the terrain instead of actually stepping on it
>when you stop moving your character doesn’t slow down naturally, you just suddenly stop. when you start moving it's instant full speed, no inertia
>jumping has stiff, floaty arcs that don’t match anything resembling gravity
>first-person movement is detached from the environment, making it feel like you're a camera on wheels
>attacks have no impact - hitting enemies with melee feels like you're swinging at air, even if you put a bullet in their skulls they just faintly flinch and continue being bullet sponges
>terrible animations that make everything feel like a series of stiff, disconnected poses
>bad collision systems, there's no proper mantling or ledge-grabbing - but walking over a small rock at an awkward angle can send your character flying into orbit
>ancient animation system, NPCs snap between poses instead of smoothly transitioning between animations, NPCs turning around looks like turrets rotating in place
New Vegas feels awful to play because of all this. I swear people who pretend Gamebryo aren't clunky have never played a game with smooth and well polished gameplay. You would probably lose your mind playing something like Titanfall 2 because you couldn't believe something can play so well compared to Bethshit.
