The goal is to diminish Big E and everything he stands for, and twist it around until Imperium is the actual villain in truth, instead of the only thing in the setting that stands between humanity and extinction making it a morally good faction despite its flaws.

The Black Library writers for the lore aren't much better, one of them gloated some time back how they had a character that was trans and went through gender-reassignment as if it was just a standard medical procedure for grunts in the Imperium which doesn't butcher the lore not at all. I'm not certain but it might've been Mike Brooks since IIRC that guy went full-retard with custom pronouns in Brutal Kunnin, which is a shame since it's a pretty decent read otherwise.
