I'm sure Kahn's VA will do an alright job with Dale (not ideal but replacing VAs never is) but I hope they do send off the character properly. I imagine an episode where he goes missing for an extended period and his dead man's switch triggers, sending everyone in Arlen an unsorted mess of files with all the dirty laundry Dale's collected, confessionals of all the shitty things Dale has done and lied about, government "secrets" that are all unbelievable bullshit but nevertheless get a three-letter agency involved, and heartfelt messages to his family and friends.
John Redcorn, seeing this as his last opportunity, finally confronts Joseph about his parentage directly and sets off an internal crisis in the boy until he hears Dale's pre-recorded goodbye, one that at no point implies Dale considered Joseph anything less than his flesh and blood son.
