I love KOTH, always thought it ended around the right time: Post Luanne's wedding started to waver in quality, but it ended before it got REALLY bad and "To sirloin with love" isn't a bad finale.

The writing from the trailer was fine and I like the premise of aging the characters. But the animation is horrendous. I'm hoping the writing can carry and it avoids becoming Family guy, South Park or Simpsons levels of "Just end it".

Technically something like 20 years ago. I did, however, just decide to throw it on as background noise a year or two ago and when it caught up to the newer seasons (anything that came out after I stopped watching), I realized something. The comedy writing was still actually ok. The problem was that the plot and concept writing have stretched themselves so thin for material that it's hard to actually sit through it to get to the jokes. The fact that I was just using it as background noise is pretty much the only reason I could. Also, the show just isn't as timeless as it wants to be. The fact that the world around Springfield is changing in accordance with reality but the characters are still exactly the same as they were decades ago is too jarring to enjoy, even for an irreverent sitcom. I know there are autists out there who have done the match on several long running cartoons that determined that some of them actually do manage to fit chronologically with the characters never getting older but no matter how you slice it, The Simpsons has long outstepped that boundary so it's weird seeing them suddenly having shit like smart phones and whatnot.
