Been looking into the history behind punk / metal then later scene fashion, what would be "counterculture" nowadays?

Everywhere I look, someone has dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings. In most subcultures, they turned into worshiping whatever mainstream media tells them to care about in the current moment. The modern day looking "punk" is really an NPC.

Looking into virginfest and other related material, it's now subversive to be right leaning/ pretend to be alt right or straight up being alt right. Yet how would that translate into fashion?

I was thinking maybe people will start dressing up purposely sleezy and drop the polished look that thrives off social media, not sure how that would look though.

Maybe purposely trashy, meta irony redneck and ghetto inspired with edgy themes that would get someone banned off social media.
