>From Chapter 5 on, Higashide and Sakurai had already grasped “their own way of getting along with FGO.”
Interesting cause Chapter 5 is the one that you feel the developments Higashide gives to his cast are really in. It still follows the same formula of his chapters but more polished like:
>a hero is nerfed bringing him is crucial (in Orleans it was Siegfried being cursed). Here Rama got Gae Bolg’d and we have to drag him all the way to Alcatraz to cure him. But this time we get to talk a lot to Rama through that and since Rama is cured midway through the chapter instead of the final portion he also gets to participate and help the team more unlike Siegfried. The trend keeps on with Achilles’ heel being shot in Atlantis before meeting and having to take away his NPs but showing he can still help under that, and then in Traum Vlad once again loses his powers but this time his full contribution is via tactical skills. And then again we bring Siegfried to the team, but like Rama in America, this time he participates and develops more.
>heavy emphasis on the mooks like he did in Apocrypha. But early on this only caused “WE GOT WYVERNS!!! from Orleans that then kept being reused even after Jalter wasn’t in the story to justify them. In America both Medb and Edison have armies of high quantity and quality and the chapter nails it early on that their numerical advantage will overpower servants. Part of the reason we have to gather troops and convince Edison to help is because we also need an army of our own to stand up against Medb’s. This gets reused in Russia and Atlantis, though in Traum the servants themselves are the army so it focuses on strategies instead.
>as said before, extended scenes to develop the cast either due to Nightingale being an insane woman shooting everything and scaring our own helpers or chilling on the bonfire while everyone talks. Higashide doubles down on that next chapters and goes all in OC4
