I'm an absolute fucking newfag, I literally bought this game today and had no idea what I was even getting into before buying it, I just wanted to play as Silent Hill and Resident Evil characters.

I've done a few matches so far, and my general strategy has been to be a sneaky little shit (the few perks I do have are focused on revealing the killers location or similar) but my biggest concern is that I'm being a rude asshole because I keep finding myself in the same situation.

Here's the scenario, please tell me what I'm doing wrong if anything:
There's two of us survivors left, one of them just got hooked, and I managed to open the exit door. Should I just run and escape? Or should I have stuck around and tried to rescue the other person? When I ran out the door it semed like "you survived, good job" but does the person left behind get fucked and lose blood points or something? I'd rather stick around and try to help them than be greedy and run off alone.

I'm too afraid to try playing as the killer yet, that sounds hard, but I did buy Sadako cause Ringu is based.
