The currency system was actually in it since beta, but was one of the subsystems that (I think unnecessarily) was cut from the final core book and saved for the "hard-scrabble fringe of settled space" supplement. Makes a little sense, I guess, since it is simpler to use the Reserves subsystem to handle money and loot.

NTA, but 3rd (SilCore) introduced a Complexity rating for skills, in addition to the skill's normal rating. The intent was to cover both breadth and depth of the character's proficiency. If I recall correctly, then a seasoned ER doctor might have high skill rating in Medicine but relatively low-to-mid complexity (they know a lot, but leave many follow-on tasks to specialists), while a freshly trained neurosurgeon might have moderate skill rating but high complexity rating.
It made sense for some skills, but was a big point-sink for others. And overall, most groups I played with felt the whole thing was too complicated. A pity, because 2d20 Conan did a similar thing quite well.

How is it in play? I've been curious about some D20 takes on mechs, like the ones from Godbound and SWN, but my group rarely plays D20 systems. Any strengths or weaknesses you've seen for your Gundam homebrew?
