>Posting from burner. I worked briefly with localization QA for external devs supporting Capcom Osaka. This is from Q1 roadmap briefings and team sync decks, including rough English drafts of internal marketing language. Not a troll. Some stuff might change, especially names.
Tentative title: Dragon’s Dogma 2: The Riftwalker
Expansion to Dragon’s Dogma 2, more of a standalone expansion in scale like Bloodborne Old Hunters or DDDA but with new map and systems
New land: “Mournveld” – highlands with underground tomb-cities and giant's keeps. Artworks aldo show a palace in state of decay, and then a ballroom with creepy mannequins.
New vocations include: “Gravedancer” (uses scythe + necromantic rites to summon spirits and wraiths) and "Warden" (uses flails and magic greatshields that get buffed by storing elemental damage and then using it).
There's a new randomized endgame mode called the Veil as well as an Hard mode.
Purification and Rarifying mechanics return with a new Relic system for gear upgrades
Upgrading weapons and armor can unlock randomized effects like elemental buffs, stat boosts, and unique passives
Players use Purification to cleanse cursed relics in these dungeons, unlocking effects or risking negative drawbacks
Internal target: Q4 2025
