It's especially bad because they could either have used the whole multiverse angle to have an Evil Wanda searching for her kids, or simply allowed MCU Wanda to have a breakdown that didn't hurt anyone except herself. Just make Wandavision something that happened to her and the reanimated body of Vision while she's being manipulated by Agatha and Chton and then she faces reality by the end, instead of it being her controlling a bunch of random people in that town and then becoming a murderous villain in the next movie.

The defining part of Wanda's character for normies isn't that she becomes a villain but that she has a breakdown. So just adapt the breakdown part but change it to just be a tragic moment for her, not a way to make her a villain on the flip of a dime. Then give her further stories where she brings Vision back not through the shortcut of delusional magic but through forming new bonds with White Vision that allows him to reconnect with his old self's memories and then having kids together because he's got all the parts necessary, baby. Make it a statement about how traumatic brain injuries require you to take the long road to recovery because there are no shortcuts.
