I honestly don't know if that's better or worse than keeping the bullshit that they were actually dangerous foes, when they had a bunch of opportunities to kill them, but didn't. Because this nonsense is unacceptable.
The best course of action would've been to have actually dangerous foes that do present a challenge for Kira. For instance, what they did with Shinn in Destiny.
