I don't think he put enough thought into it to even have a point.
He just saw ONE's design and disagreed with it, so he changed it.
I really don't believe that Murata thinks that ONE makes deliberate decisions with the designs for his characters. That A being a scruffy looking guy with permanent psycho eyes isn't an expression about how he's in truth a really simple guy who just happens to only care about killing people. That Blast looking like The Cooler Saitama isn't meant to draw comparisons between them so now he's #16 and also a shoe. That Pig God looking like a literal pig isn't meant to make him look repulsive until we see his actual character as an extremely reliable hero who just has trouble communicating. That Tatsumaki looking like a shit-faced brat isn't the whole point.
It may sound harsh, but Murata genuinely doesn't seem to care about narrative and how comic book art is meant to be in service of something greater, so all he wants to do is draw pretty pictures without any further context attached.
He's made to draw pin-ups and environmental shots, but he insists on making manga despite clearly not caring half the things that go into it.
