Hugh Laurie is a charisma elemental and is very funny. Also if you look at the actual show it's very well lit and shot and there's over 20 episodes most seasons (not sure what happened in 4, writer's strike?). Seriously the show looks and sounds as good as some of the "premium" shit from HBO or Amazon or whatever but they put out over double the episodes per season.
