Look at the burns on this kid from Baghdad. The sharp lines dividing unburned skin, with flesh charred to the bone. No fireball from a conventional explosion could do that. If he was close enough to a regular HE blast to cause those burns, the pressure and temperature in the immediate vicinity wouldn't have left the rest of him unscathed.
Those are intense radiation burns, and the tan lines are from where he was shaded from direct exposure.
Why do you think they immediately replaced the top soil around the area of that battle?
