I've never owned an apple product (minus a lightning to AUX adapter for my friends riding shotgun).
I'm in the market for a new laptop and I'm currently running a T540p with Debian.
There's a few dealbreakers for me:
>Keyboards feel like cardboard compared to my old ThinkPad's keyboard
>No numpad
and that's just about it.
Anyways, I want to dip my toes and see what Macs are like. What should I get if I have no prior experience with MacOS and if I'm not really comitted (=as cheap as possible while getting a good look into it)?

This, I am an certified apple hater, still, friendly generals should always stay FRIENDLY. But holy shit, the apple shilling and spam outside this general is killing the board so I can understand that guys frustration with this.
